The Song of Time

2016 Iridescent film, laminating sheet, wire

Dimension varies

This was commissioned work for an outdoor Christmas illumination event called Enchanted Parks in Gateshead, Northeast of England. This year’s theme was Shakespeare and I created over 400 nightingales and larks shape cutouts hung from a tree to represent the beauty of time recognition inspired from Romeo and Juliet’s conversation.

''It is not near day. It was the nightingale, and not the lark that pierced the fearful hollow of thine ear. Nightly she sings on yond pomegranate tree. Believe me, love, it was the nightingale.''

The iridescent film created beautiful reflections in the woods and shimmering effect made a magical feeling.
