Nobody Knows

2019 Glass powder, light

12 x 12 x 7 cm

This piece is made from glass powder with the pâte de verre technique. It is a paper-thin hollow sculpture with bird shaped cutouts and is lit from inside to project scattered silhouettes of birds.

The source of inspiration comes from an abandoned church in a little harbor town in north Scotland.

Many beautiful seagulls were flying around the coast every morning and gathering on top of the building.

The windows were boarded up or missing and no one is able to see inside anymore but seagulls.

The vulnerable glass sculpture portrays the beautiful yet mysterious landscape of a tranquil Scottish town in the dead of winter.
